Amazing Grace Instrumental Mp3 Download – “Amazing Grace” is one of the most beloved hymns ever written, sung and played in the world. His words were written by an Englishman, John Newton, in 1772. Newton’s early adult life was extremely embarrassing. He became a merchant of human suffering – the commander of an English slave ship that transported a large number of African slaves, most of whom had the hardest life (mainly in America). Newton’s life was forever turned upside down, however, when God revealed to him the evil of his trade. Newton’s repentance gave birth to the inspired words of Amazing Grace. He became a minister of the church and continued in this capacity for the rest of his life.
The origin of the melody that Amazing Grace is commonly sung to is unknown, although the American composer William Walker first combined Newton’s words with a traditional folk song. While it is very popular in America and around the world in many different arrangements, many agree that Amazing Grace is especially poignant when played on the bagpipes. In 1972 the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards had great success with their bagpipe arrangement and helped strengthen the association between the anthem and Scotland. Scotty plays “Amazing Grace” in his bagpipes at Spock’s funeral in “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” (1982), and James Horner’s score for the film took the music.
