To get to the place in your life where you can be led by God’s Spirit, you must first be able to recognize His voice. This happens not only from praying and reading God’s Word, but also from meditating on God’s Word, which is one of the ways to guide His Spirit.
What does it mean to meditate on God’s Word? It means stopping and thinking about what you have read and allowing the Holy Spirit to bring new revelation, even to a verse you have read a hundred times. Meditating on God’s Word is more than reading the Bible – it involves study, analysis, searching and reflection. It is to seek God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. It’s open to a new interpretation that you haven’t thought of before – one that may be different from what your mom or pastor told you.
When you meditate on God’s Word, you are training your human spirit to recognize God’s voice and to better understand what He has to say to you, especially about every detail of every situation. This is why God told Joshua that meditating on His Word is the key to prosperity and success (Joshua 1:8). He gave him the intention to achieve everything he wanted. This intention is to meditate on His Word.
When you meditate on God’s Word, you don’t just think about it during quiet time. You think it all the time – you say it all the time. It becomes a part of your inner man, stirs your faith, develops your human spirit, and makes it easier for you to be led by the Spirit of God.
How To Be Led By The Holy Spirit
If you want to go ahead and develop your spirit, start by spending 10-15 minutes each day meditating on God’s Word. Your spirit will develop and grow, and you will begin to hear clear answers to the questions you so desperately need.
2. Be doers of God’s Word “Be doers of the word, not hearers only.” – James 1:22 (NKJV)
One sure way to be led by the Spirit of God is to be a doer of God’s Word. We don’t see too many Christians doing the Word anymore, do we? They talk, of course, but it looks like everyone else in the world walks the walk. However, it is clear in the Bible that listeners (people who read their Bibles and attend church) do not do much in this world. This is why James 2:17 says that faith without works is dead. If you want the supernatural in your life, dead faith will not lead you to victory.
Like anything else with God, being a doer of the Word isn’t about rules or beliefs – it’s about the heart. A Christian who reads the Bible and even looks at the Word of God, but does not apply it, does not obey the first commandment and the greatest commandment: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul all, with all yours. mind, and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30,
What Does It Mean To Be Led By The Holy Spirit?
God’s love is what He has asked you to do in His Word. When you love and obey Him, you are in His company – you are in Him – and you can be guided by His Spirit in every area of your life. Obedience to God means being close to him, and that’s when you know he will draw close to you too and send you the secrets you’ve ever had the greatest privilege to hear.
To be a doer of God’s Word, try in your heart to do everything you see written in it. It means that you change your lifestyle to fit the Word rather than trying to change the Word to fit your lifestyle. You don’t make excuses; you don’t want to change what the Bible says to suit your own fleshly desires. You simply obey the Word by faith. you don’t
For example, to talk about doubts, not defeat and discouragement in the doer of the Word, because the Bible does not tell us to live like that. The Bible tells us to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
When you become doers of the Word, revelation will come. When you practice obedience even in small things, you will find that you will begin to listen to God more and more every day. The more you respond to His voice, the more you will hear Him. It will continue to grow until you train your human spirit and be led by the Spirit of God to such an extent that supernatural miracles begin in your life. 3. Put the Word of God above everything “My son, pay attention to my words; agree and obey my words. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the center of your heart.” – Proverbs 4:20-21 (AMC)
Kenneth and Gloria Copeland often say that one way to be led by God’s Spirit is to put God’s Word above all else. 2 Chronicles 16:12-13 tells about a situation in which King Asa had the opportunity to put the word of God above everything else: “In the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa fell ill in his leg. But despite the severity of the disease, he did not seek help from the Lord, but turned only to his doctors. So he died in the forty-first year of his reign.”
For some reason, King Asa did not seek God in his hour of trial. Instead, he sought the help of the world. (The world is not in the business of supernatural healing, salvation, restoration or provision. These things are God’s work.) To be led by the Spirit of God, we must put His Word above all else in every situation. It allows us to be sensitive to its guidance, which often goes against “common sense,” statistics, how others do it, and the world view of “logic.”
Sons Of God Are Led By The Spirit
This is why we must learn to put God’s Word above all else, or first. In any matter of life we must learn to ask, “What does the Word of God say about this?” And then we have to put that Word first.
