Full Movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na – Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na was for me the highlight of Channel 4’s last major season of Bollywood, but it faced some stiff competition.
Last September’s New Voices film series was the best season of Hindi films the channel has programmed in the four years I’ve been watching and presented me with an entertaining and thought provoking series of films. to think
Full Movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na
It covered six films by new directors and none of them (so no Mahal, Hydrabad Blues 2 or Mangel Panday in previous years). But it was Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na (translation: you may know, you may not) that stole the show for me.

It is basically an entertaining post-teen drama with an Aamir Khan production, and the entire production value of this involves the producer/star of Laagan and Rang De Basanti.
But unlike either of these two (great) films, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na eschews political or historical points to focus firmly on a coming-of-age story.
The 2008 film is set in and around a university in Mumbai and is the story of a boy (Imran Khan’s Jai) meets a girl (Aditi played by Genelia), though it is the boy meets girl , the girl loses a boy and they end up back together at an airport. variety
In the accompanying introduction, director Abbas Tyrewalla says he had to write this reminiscence of his own college days when he did it before too much time passed to do them justice.

It oversees a film with a very effective “story told in retrospect” complemented by a well-paced story arc.
The characterization, while heavily focused on Jai and Aditya, gives enough depth to the supporting cast to make it feel like an ensemble piece that only has two leads.
Of course, it adheres to some aspirational norms common to teen films. So, sure, a couple of friends have cars, but there’s a lot more to the story than a comparison would lead you to expect.
There were times when the film fell short of the mark. Aditi wrote “I’m gay” on Jai’s arm and Jai tricked two drunk guys who were dating a girl by lying to them that he had AIDS, which made me wish for every other sexually transmitted disease used for comedic purposes.
Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na
Despite these incidents, overall the movie was a lot of fun. It opens with a dull tone on the title track which fooled me into thinking the songs weren’t very memorable – I heard them on the radio and they popped straight into my head. Perhaps unsurprisingly, I later discovered that the film was another one with a soundtrack by AR Rahman, one of Bollywood’s most successful composers. (You can get a taste of the music on the film’s official website.)
Hindi movies are usually at least two and a half hours long, and with a young family, I’m not exactly time-rich. So perhaps the best compliment I can pay Bollywood movies is to want a second look. With Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na I am already looking forward to watching it for the third time in the not too distant future.

Jaane tu ya jaane na is the ultimate story of less time than a funny stupid funny movie of the year. Wow, so many goals. I actually couldn’t decide if I liked the movie or not. Same story… Jaanu main yaanu na! 🙂 lol
Well, the movie opens with an airport sequence where 4 useless bugs decide to tell a story to a would-be bride. A story about Rat aka Jai Singh Rathore and Meow aka Aditi Mahant. Jai and Aditi are best friends, they just can’t live without each other. (Remember Rahul and Anjali from Kuchh Kuchh Hota hai?) They sing together, dance together, go to college together, eat together, sleep… no, not together. They do everything but they don’t like each other. Because Jai is a thoroughly spoiled Rajput, in other ways. He is very sweet, well mannered and a perfect mama’s boy unlike the macho and rugged Rajputs. Aditi, however, has no feminine characteristics. He believes in extremes, extreme love, extreme emotions, extreme anger… blah blah! Jai thinks he should go with a very homely sweet girl, while Aditi wants to marry a He-man.
Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa… Phool Phir Khil Jaate Hai..
So this is the plot of the movie. Nothing big, but well presented. Now enters Meghna, Jai’s new found love or what he thinks is love. Meghna brings a lot of freshness to Jai’s life (And the movie bore. Manjari Phadnis is pathetic) She comes out of Aditi’s embrace to find a new direction and a new friend. Aditi doesn’t complain, but the pinch is evident in her demeanor. He doesn’t like Jai mixing with his so called girl. so what happens Enter another character, Sushant Modi, Aditi’s ultimate macho man. Aditi comes close to him, but never that close. It’s still enough for Jai to realize the mistake he made. Aditi’s engagement to Sushant leaves Jai devastated. Say life can’t wait and move on. This is what should happen in real life. But hey… this is a Bollywood movie. So another twist (a small one). Our masculinity Sushant is not exactly kind and respectful. His list of ex-girlfriends is taller than his height. An “I’m the boss” guy, he doesn’t get along with everyone. Then, after some more stupid stuff, the story ends on a happy note, typically Bollywood style. Of course, I’m not an idiot to tell you how.
Overall, the film has a very youthful look and feel. Among the group of 6 silly friends, there are other characters like Aditi’s ultra-cool parents, Jai’s mother and a dead but very proud father in a talking portrait (played very well by Ratna Pathak Shah and Nareeruddin Shah), Paresh Rawal as Inspector Waghmare. , Arbaaz and Sohail Khan in a cameo role that adds effervescence to the otherwise mundane film. The humor is very well directed, though there are no memorable lines that you would normally expect from Abbas Tyrewala (the director). Imran Khan is very handsome (his uncle Aamir Khan’s legacy) but he may need more acting lessons. He reminds me of Abhay Deol in Socha na tha. Spending too many years in Telagu movies showing about Genelia, she is very sweet until she opens her mouth. Others, especially Prateek Babbar as Aditi’s brother, did well in supporting the film. Of course, last but not least, the music of A.R. Rahman is also very good. It’s refreshingly different from the usual.
Like I said, overall the movie is full of fun. Watch it if you like watching a young drama with lots of good humor, no villains and cute little people.
