Jaane Tu Ya Jane Na – Jaane Tu Ya Jaane To me was the best on Channel 4 of the last big Bollywood season, but it faced tough competition.
The New Voices of Cinema last September was the best season of Hindi films organized by the channel in the four years I watched and I was introduced to many entertaining and thought-provoking films.
Jaane Tu Ya Jane Na
It includes six films made by new directors, none of whom is Duff (no Mahal, Hyderabad Blues 2 or Mangal Pandey from previous years). But jaane to ya jaane na tha (translation: you may know, you may not) stole the show for me.

It is basically a coming-of-age thriller and is produced by Aamir Khan, whose credits are from the producer/star of Lagaan and Rang De Basanti.
But unlike either of these two (great) films, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane eschews political or historical rhetoric to focus firmly on a coming-of-age story.
The 2008 film is set in and around Mumbai University and is the story of a boy (Imran Khan’s Jai) who meets a girl (Aditi played by Genelia) – albeit a little girl an airport. different types
In his introduction, director Abbas Tyrwala said that he had to write these memories of his university days before too much time was spent to do justice.
Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na
His vision is a film with the best ‘storytelling’ and adds to it a good poetry.
The character, with a strong focus on Jai and Aditya, has enough depth in the supporting cast to appear as a group together with only two leads.
Basically, it sticks to some of the most common beliefs of teen movies. It’s true that some guys have cars, but there’s more to the story than a comparison would lead you to expect.
There were times when the film missed the mark. Aditi jokes on Jai’s hand, “I’m gay” but Jai fools two drunken guys by lying to a girl that she has AIDS, which I I wish another Venereal disease was used for comic purposes.

Despite these incidents, the whole movie is a lot of fun. It starts with a deafening chorus of the title track that fooled me into thinking that I don’t remember the lyrics well – I’ve heard it on the radio and it just popped into my head. Perhaps not surprisingly, I later learned that the film has a soundtrack by AR Rahman, one of Bollywood’s most successful composers. Hindi films usually run for at least two and a half hours and with a young family, I am not limited by time. Perhaps the best compliment I can give to a Bollywood movie is a second viewing. I am already looking forward to watch it for the third time with Jaane To Ya Jaane Na.

Well the movie starts with a sequence at the airport where 4 idle buggers decide to tell a story to a famous girlfriend. A story about mice aka Jai Singh Rathore and Miyano aka Aditi Mahant. Jai and Aditi are best friends, they cannot live without each other. (Remember Rahul and Anjali from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai?) They sing together, they dance together, they go to college together, they eat together, they sleep together… no mistake, no once. They do everything but love each other. For Jai on the other hand is a very bad Rajput. He is very sweet, well behaved and a perfect boy unlike the rough, macho Rajputs. However, Aditi has few feminine qualities. He believes in exaggeration, too much love, too much emotion, too much anger. Jai thinks that he should go out with a very beautiful family girl but Aditi wants to marry a man.

So this is the plot of the film. Nothing fancy, but good show. Now enter Meghna, Jai’s new love or what he thinks is love. Meghna brings a lot of new things to Jai’s life (and the film is bad. Manjari Phadnis is sad) He leaves Aditi’s embrace to find a new path and a new friend. Although Aditi doesn’t complain, her behavior shows the badge. Jai doesn’t like mixing with his girlfriend. So what’s next? Enter another person, Sushant Modi, Aditi’s best man. Aditi came close to him, but not very close. But it was enough for Jai to realize the mistake he had made. Aditi and Sushant’s engagement broke Jai. They say life can’t wait, and move on. This is how it should have been in real life. But hey… it’s a Bollywood film. So, one more twist (a little one). Our man Sushant is unassuming and polite. His list of ex-girlfriends is longer than his height. A ‘I’m-not-the-boss’ type of person, doesn’t get along well with everyone. After some nonsense, the story ends on a happy note, typical Bollywood style. Of course I’m not crazy enough to tell you how.
The whole picture has a very youthful look and feel. In the group of 6 crazy friends, there are other people like Aditi’s cold parents, Jai’s mother and a father who is dead but very proud of the talk show (played well by Ratna Pathak Shah and Nariruddin Shah). ), Paresh Rawal as Inspector Waghmare, Arbaaz and Sohail Khan in a scene that created a stir in another classic movie. The humor is very well directed, although there are no memorable lines that you usually expect from Abbas Tyrwala (the director). Imran Khan is very handsome (inherited by his uncle Aamir Khan) but he might need some acting lessons. He reminds me of Abhay Deol in Socha Na Tha Tha. Having spent many years in Telugu films portraying Genelia, she is very cute until she opens her mouth. Others, especially Prateek Babbar who is Aditi’s brother, have supported the film well. Of course, last but not least, AR Rahman’s music is great. It is innovative from its usual form.
Like I said, the overall picture is full of fun. If you want to watch a teenage drama that has a lot of fun, no bad people and cute kids.
