Jesus Empowered By The Holy Spirit Verses – Last week we were lifted up in the resurrection of Jesus and the amazing resurrection power that now lives in each of us. He not only gives us His power, but He also gives us His spiritual presence in our souls. The fire started, but it didn’t end there. We have a responsibility to light the flame of the Holy Spirit. What better time of year to keep our fire burning?
As Paul faced his approaching death, he wrote his last letter to his beloved Timothy. They were traveling companions and Paul was a great teacher to Timothy, whom he considered a son. He gave him advice and encouragement for the difficult days of persecution that lay ahead of Timothy.
Jesus Empowered By The Holy Spirit Verses
“I remember your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and now I am sure, lives also in you. That is why, I remind you to kindle the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of hands me.”
Joel 2:28, Promise Of The Father, Baptism Of The Holy Spirit, Gift Of The Holy Spirit
In his two letters to Timothy, Paul repeatedly encourages him to be courageous, not to shy away from confrontation and to stand up and be strong. Timothy may have been a little shy, but he also faced great responsibility in Ephesus. Whatever the reason, Timothy needed courage and Paul had the perfect answer.
The Greek word Paul uses means to rekindle, to “rekindle” the flame. The goal is to keep the fire burning; continuous. Timothy did not lose his fire, but Paul encouraged him to keep it burning.
The fire of the Holy Spirit is a gift, freely given and now present within us. It is the Spirit of God himself, His promise fulfilled. It is a sacred fire that ignites the spiritual desire to use God-given gifts and talents.
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another counselor, who will help you and be with you forever – the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot receive Him, because the world does not see Him and does not know Him. But you know Him, because He dwells with you and will be in you.”
Holy Spirit In The New Testament Podcast
“But you are not ruled by the sinful nature, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwells in you.
“And you are also included in Christ, when you hear the word of truth, which is the gospel of your salvation. After you believe, you are marked with a seal in Him, which is the promised Holy Spirit.”
God has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit, but He is not responsible for keeping the fire burning. We are in holy partnership with Him – subject to His will and empowered by Him to do His work. This includes being careful and diligent in lighting the fire.
Translated as “boiling heat”. Have you ever made candy or jam? You need to bring it to a boil – it splatters and comes out of the pan loudly.
The Roles Of Christ And The Holy Spirit Throughout The Bible
This is the spiritual spirit that Jesus is looking for. We must keep the fire of our Holy Spirit burning, no matter what is happening around us. We must not let our circumstances or others dampen our fire.
Is your fire a new, steady little flame? Or maybe you let it burn to embers. Just like real fire, our spiritual fire should tend to burn brightly.
1. Start by adding a little “tinder” to your fire or charcoal. It is a small dry material that ignites quickly to help build a larger fire.
As your Tinder. Sit before Jesus for a moment. Ask Him what His plan is for you and how best to light your personal fire. Find him and listen to his voice – he will reveal himself to you.
What Is The Blasphemy Of The Holy Spirit?
, little by little, as a solid foundation for your fire. Add simple good deeds and express gratitude for His blessings. They can ignite our joy and faith. Add prayers and praises to keep the fire alive.
3. Now you are ready to add a larger log to your fire. Grow your fire by growing your relationship with it. An unattended fire will go out. A consistent “diary” of Bible study, prayer, fellowship and acts of service fuel the fire of the Holy Spirit.
No two fires are the same, and neither are we. As we learn and grow throughout our lives, he reveals himself to us in the flame of the Holy Spirit. He will guide you into His wonderful plan and show you what gifts He has given you for your season of life.
Have you ever tried to start a fire with wet wood? It produces fire with less heat and more smoke. Not only is it less effective, but it can also be dangerous to your health.
The Purpose And Functions Of The Holy Spirit
We extinguish the fire of passion when we add the “wet wood” of indifference or busyness; Prioritizing other aspects of our lives over our spiritual gifts. Our flames dwindled and choking smoke filled the surrounding air. This environment is not conducive to keeping our fire alive and burning brightly.
Or maybe you add printed paper to your campfire. The toxic smell comes from the ink, bleaching agents and chemicals contained in this paper.
Likewise, sin in our lives is poisonous to our fire. We should refrain from throwing anything into it that threatens to take it away. Unforgiveness, doubt, bitterness, fear, anxiety – any personal thought, word or deed that is contrary to God – extinguishes our fire.
Once you have a mature flame, the flame burns hot and bright. You emit heat and light. Your base is filled with glowing embers. Another way to keep the fire of the Holy Spirit alive is to light someone else’s log by adding it to your own log.
Thursdays With Spurgeon—are You Gazing Or Going?
God has given us all different spiritual gifts, so lighting someone else’s fire will never look the same.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your soul. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: love your neighbor as yourself.”
Remember the boiling hot spirit that Paul encouraged us to show? Imagine living this verse in your world with the fire of the Holy Spirit bright and eager to inspire and light the fire of others.
To rekindle, awaken and ignite the flame of the Holy Spirit requires intentional work. We cannot let “life” get in the way of finding God and living for Him. Our enemies love to put out our fire! Lighting a flame is not as hard as it seems.
Topical Bible Verses
On the other hand, once we commit to kindle the fire of our Holy Spirit, we love the heat and light so much that we cannot help adding to it.
Let us be diligent in overseeing the above. Let’s sit by the fire, soak in front of it. By the power of Jesus and the presence of the Holy Spirit, we are refined and purified. We can be the bold gift to God’s kingdom that Paul saw in Timothy.
Each of us receives a gift that fits our personality and God’s plan. They are already in us, whether we use them or not. Paul compares the body of the Messiah to a human body. Each part has a different purpose but must work together.
“But in fact, God has arranged the parts of the body, each one of them, as He willed.”
Bible Verses About Work & Working For God
Light your flame, keep it burning and strong, that you may glorify Him, feel His joy in your life and experience every trial and temptation for His purpose.” Peter said to them: “Repent and each of you. Be baptized in the name of Jesus the Messiah for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. “For the promise [miracle] is intended for you and your children and for all the people who are far off, even though they are many. As Jehovah our God will call [when we the apostles will lay hands on you in the future]” (Acts 2:38-39)
1. The gift of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2:38 is the miraculous gift of supernatural power in nine different categories listed in 1 Cor 12: knowledge, wisdom, faith, prophecy, miracles, healing, intercession, tongues, interpretation of tongues. These 9 gifts exist in both the Old and New Testaments. All ancestors including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jacob communicated directly with God and functioned as prophets. Joseph saw a dream and became a prophet, Moses performed miracles, David had the gift of prophecy, Solomon had the gift of wisdom, Bezaleel had two gifts: knowledge and wisdom. Elijah and Elijah each had two gifts: the gift of miracles and healing. Balaam’s donkey miraculously spoke with the supernatural gift of tongues! Elisha may have had the gift of interpreting in tongues by interpreting the Aramean ambush plan spoken by the king of Damascus in his bedchamber to the Hebrew-speaking king of Israel (2 Kings 6:12). We see the same gift we find in the New Testament
