Nicki Minaj And Drake Reveal Their Sons Will Have Playdates ‘soon’
The premiere of the music video, directed by Chris Robinson, took place in 2011. on Thursday, January 27 at 7:54 PM ET on MTV. Nicki Minaj shines in Moment 4 Life, her third video and first full-length solo album Pink Friday, playing herself as well as her famous alter-egos Barbie and Martha. A series of childhood “happily ever after” fantasies set the stage for some of the cast’s most beautiful costumes and extravagant sets to date.
The video opens with the ever-familiar opening fairy tale line, but with a twist. “Once upon a time there lived a king named Nicky…” The harp fades off the page and Minaj sits in her royal bedroom. Like Cleopatra. meets Aladdin’s Jasmine in a turquoise dress and delicate star studded headdress. Her fairy godmother Martha (played by Minaj, but with a British accent) magically focuses attention as they discuss the evening’s business.
Godmother Martha says: “Listen to me Nikki, nights like this are usually fleeting and usually end by midnight.” He then assures Nicky that he’ll have “the moment of a lifetime,” and after some humorous exchanges about the alter-ego (Martha’s son), sparks fly as Nicky sighs while his godmother disappears.
He quickly turns to the camera and starts working some motivational rhymes. It’s one of her best moments, that is, Nicki Minaj showcasing both rapper and singer, surprisingly dependent on confident phrases and sparkling production from T-Minus.

As the doors to her palace open, Minaj enters, grinning and rapping. “Right now I’m king, right now I’m slingshotting Goliath.”
As guests enter the grand ballroom to enjoy a lavish cocktail hour, Nicky enters with a beaming Barbie smile, then turns back to Nicky, rhyming:

Like any proper fairy tale, Drake is standing at the top of the ladder overlooking Nicki’s balcony. Now in a pink wig, studded boots and warrior bust, Minaj meets Drake in a grandfather clock and they stand on her throne as her prince charming launches into his verse. He sums up the emotional appeal of the song with the following lines:
