It’s a great buy and a pleasure to listen to, it’s just that the discs are in MP3 format which most CDs won’t play, so make sure you have an MP3 CD.
First, I must say that I have the ‘regular’ version of the David Suchet audio Bible and find it simply the best audio Bible. It gives the words time to breathe and makes them move instead of reading stories. He really brings the words to life.
However, this review applies only to the Bible per year. When I heard that they were going to release it in this format, my heart skipped a beat and I was really looking forward to it.
How To Listen Audio Bible Offline On Android?
Now that I have it, I have to say I am very disappointed. I wanted to put it on my phone so I could look at it and read it every day. I expected each file name to be self-explanatory – something like Jan_01_OT or Dec_25_NT – something like that. Instead there are three files for each day, all with incomprehensible titles like 9781473640467_01_0067_BIOY (and strangely, IMO, they have the Old Testament reading as the last reading of the day).
Instead of logical track names, you get a small piece of paper that tells you which three tracks you can play on the CD at any given time. It is not as useful as providing tracks with meaningful names. Personally, I would rename each of the tracks to see what day of the year they belong to – but I really don’t have to.
It’s like buying a year’s worth of paper Bibles, then realizing you have to consult the paper to see the page numbers you’re looking for every day.
So… They put out the best audio Bible out there and messed it up a bit. Honestly I wouldn’t bother with this if you have an older version. If you don’t have the old version, do yourself a favor and get it! But this? I’m sorry. I found this to be a huge disappointment.

David Suchet has a voice that helps focus, brings clarity, and somehow makes Scripture come alive in a new way. Well-known passages become gems, unfamiliar passages take on new significance. David’s accent seems neutral and he sings with a warmth and depth of understanding that makes the verse come alive. What a beautiful voice! Many times, just listening brings the scriptures to life in a new way as it removes the intense concentration that the book requires…. down the house. I bought this for a new Christian and he absolutely loves it – and he doesn’t have to struggle with pronouncing unfamiliar names and words! I have it on CD and in my phone. This was a great purchase.
