Rachel Platten Stand By You Mp3 – “Fight Song” singer-songwriter Rachel Platten has joined Ford’s Warriors in Pink in the fight to provide a greater quality of life for breast cancer survivors and patients. He spoke with Jim about his involvement with the organization and the types of services Warriors in Pink offers in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Jim Brickman: October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and for those battling the disease, we’re getting help from “Fight Song” singer-songwriter Rachel Platten, who’s joining us this weekend. Now you are working with Warriors Pink Rachel to bring a better day to those fighting breast cancer, how did you get involved with this organization?

Rachel Platen: I wanted to find a way to give back. I have a lot of fans who poured their hearts out to me at meet and greets and stuff and some of them shared that they were battling cancer, and breast cancer in particular, so I wanted to find out. The organization I believe in, like the one described by Ford’s Warriors in Pink, helps patients have better days. This is such a beautiful idea.

RP: Besides music and concerts, I got to do really cool things like travel the country and create gift bags for patients and survivors, and we were able to give them out and surprise the student breast cancer survivors at New. York, and I got to give them some mic techniques… we got to do a lot of cool stuff together.
JB: And for all of our listeners, tell us a little bit about the services that Warriors in Pink offers.
RP: Of course! They’re partnered with Wanderlust and are doing a 21-day yoga challenge, which is pretty cool. I believe that yoga can be an amazing resource for transforming your body and mind. And then they’re partnering with Headspace, which is a meditation app that I actually use. It’s a good way to learn to meditate, if you want to say, “That word scares me, I don’t know what it means.”
I think a lot of times when people are struggling, especially with such a big disease, there are so many amazing doctors and people who can support you medically, but you have to do that work yourself, stay positive and believe in yourself. Believing that you can heal yourself and meditation is a great way to start realizing that you have that power in your mind, often to lift your body and feel better.
