Scriptures On Inviting The Holy Spirit – But continue in what you have learned and that you are convinced of, because you know those who learned from him, and as you know from your childhood the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God is well equipped for every good work.

When it comes to spiritual gifts, in all their forms, it is important to learn how to follow the guidance of the Spirit, or “voice”. Whether we are talking about administrative gifts or miraculous gifts, every follower of Jesus needs to learn how to recognize the leading of the Holy Spirit in real times, in real places. Feeling the guidance of the Spirit allows us to express the way of love (1 Cor 14:1) as Jesus did – to see what the Father is doing and to work with him in his work (Jn 5:19). That’s Kingdom Followership 101.

Scriptures On Inviting The Holy Spirit

Let us first believe that we are seated with Christ in heaven (Eph 2:6), filled with the Holy Spirit (Eph 5:18), led in truth by the Spirit (John 16:13), led from the Spirit. . (Rom. 8:14), and they are encouraged to keep in harmony with the Spirit (Gal. 5:25). It seems that we are well equipped to respond to the voice of the Spirit with sensitivity and wisdom.

The Dinner Table As A Place Of Connection, Brokenness, And Blessing

I found it helpful to ask two important questions before I talk about hearing the Holy Spirit. First, do I have a desire, a deep desire, to listen to God’s voice for what is on his heart for others as well as for me? Second, the desire to hear God speak for His glory, the strengthening of His church, and the blessing of others—even if I am not the one who benefits in some way? Even if I am totally hidden in the process? It is important to be honest if we want to hear the voice of God calling us to crucifixion, the giving of ourselves in our service to others.

While there are many ways to talk about hearing God’s voice (and obeying), in the coming days we will look at some ways to listen to the Spirit—ways to understand the Spirit’s guidance, which can help us listen well throughout our lives. .

First, we hear the Holy Spirit speaking through the Scriptures (2 Tim. 3:14-17). The Scriptures are “the Spirit of God,” and the Spirit is the breath of God. While Paul was talking to Timothy about the Hebrew Bible, we can apply the power that God spoke to the entire canon of Scripture. He was telling Timothy that the Scriptures are a reliable source of guidance throughout life.

All the counsel of the Bible—when we get it deep into our bones, when it becomes our strength, when it is constantly drawn to for wisdom and guidance, and when it is put into practice day after month after month— it helps us to keep the path of life (Psalm 16:11) and narrowly follow Jesus. If we leave the Scriptures in our spiritual development, and forget our need to rely on it, we lose a large part of our spiritual hearing. If we internalize the word of God, however, the Spirit will come to it at all the appropriate moments when we need it.

Five Bible Verses That Teach Us About The Holy Ghost

It is like having an internal compass within us. If I feel that I am “getting” some inner guidance from the Spirit that goes against some aspect of the teachings of Jesus, the fruit of the Spirit, all the advice of the Scriptures, the unity of the church, etc., so the Scripture I have hidden in my heart will draw me to the true north so that I do not go wrong. The word of God, hidden in our hearts (Psalm 119:11), can help us to keep us on the path that leads to life.

If we continue to enter the Scriptures, by showing the fruit of the Spirit and the character of Christ by applying and living the Holy Word, we can gradually learn to trust our feelings and intuition through the -practice, we know that our inner compass will hold us. aligned.from the way of Jesus that has been passed down to us from the Scriptures.

Jesus, I receive the Holy Spirit. I want to learn to listen to your voice to encourage others, to your church, and to bring you glory. Come, Holy Spirit, help me to love your word, discern your guidance in my spirit through your word and make me hungry and thirsty for its advice. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Ways To Welcome The Holy Spirit In Your Life

13 February 2015 | by Katie Bennett Don’t Ignore the Best Years of Your Life Because of Their Pain and Trouble It’s easy to get confused about spiritual gifts. You know that there are things that the Holy Spirit uses in you and through you to accomplish His work. You probably know that the Bible talks about the work of the Holy Spirit in you. But there are many different ideas and tutorials on what this looks like. You may have completed a spiritual gifts assessment. Maybe you took a course to try to understand your role in the church.

I understand the thinking behind these techniques and know they can be helpful. But the problem with them is their focus. At heart, the focus of these tests is you. You are explaining what you feel, perceive and feel good about in the service. It tends not to be on
