Sermon On Building A Strong Foundation – Every person has a dream for the kind of “house” they want to build with their life. The parable in Matthew 7 illustrates how the success or failure of one’s house is based on the decision to build it on wisdom and truth. A well-built life is the result of the decision to base that life on the activated Word of God, and not on the appearance of truth – which is often tainted by the foolish opinions and reasoning of man. For example, two men have the same dream of having a well-built house. They hear the same Word of God from the same Jesus, each faces the same storms in life. However, they have completely different results.
The house referred to in this biblical passage refers to the totality of life – every part of life in which a person wants to experience success and prosperity. For example, the house can mean a dream of a fruitful life or a life well lived. It can also refer to an individual’s heritage in relation to their family, faith, or their influence and influence. The house can also represent the house of government – the benefit to society of individual obligations that people make to live according to God’s rule over their lives.
Sermon On Building A Strong Foundation
Both people in this passage wanted the same thing: to build their houses well. Despite their similarities, there was a difference that made one a wise man and the other a fool: the wise man decided to apply spiritual truths to the realities of life, while the fool did not. The wise man built his house on the rock – a strong foundation that could withstand the test of life’s storms. The fool expected the same result, even though he had not made the same kind of investment in the construction. The problem that many people face in today’s culture is that they build their lives, families, churches and civil governments on the wrong foundation.
Reconciliation: The Foundation Of A Spiritual Home
In Matthew 7:26 we are reminded that the foundation is not only about information, but also about execution. We can not only be hearers of the Word, but we must also be doers of the Word. If youare going to build a solid foundation, it must be on the foundation of the activated Word of God, not just the known Word of God. Sometimes people are tempted not to make a clear choice. God says you cannot build a dumb foundation. God’s word must be activated in our lives in an unadulterated way. You can’t just have enough of God to be “safe”. When we take God’s truth and submerge it in human opinion, we nullify God’s Word and deny the power that we can experience in our lives as a result.
Until a storm arises, we usually do not know the ways of fools. When the storm comes, circumstances in a person’s life can reveal the structure of the foundation upon which an individual has built himself. The message of the story is clear: don’t build a skyscraper on a chicken coop foundation! When the hurricanes come, the life of a chicken coop will not withstand the storms.
There is some good storm news to consider though. Even unexpected storms can help you evaluate your foundation. If you find that your foundation needs strengthening or even rebuilding, ask God to calm the storms and restore your foundation on His Word. When we build on a firm foundation of Christ, we can withstand whatever is thrown at us. A God-based foundation produces firm faith and life and enables us to be living examples for others.
Dig your spiritual foundation deep; develop deep faith. Building a secure spiritual foundation means investing, inspecting and making sure the foundation is maintained – and God has given us the instructions to do this!
A Strong Foundation (matthew 7:24 29)
Learn to trust God with the little things. If you do, it will be easier for you to trust God with the big things.
In Matthew 7 we find that Jesus concludes his Sermon on the Mount. Jesus gives a word of warning and a word of confirmation and hope to all who listen. A warning to those who may ignore the teachings of Jesus and a word of confirmation, hope and encouragement to those who put his teachings into practice. Just because we hear the teachings of Jesus and respond in a somewhat positive way does not mean that we will put the teachings of Jesus into practice and build a secure foundation.
The devil, the enemy of God and the enemy of your soul, will do everything to deceive you that you are good and the way you live is OK; even though things are falling around you.
The devil wants you to believe that there are shortcuts to obedience. Fidelity Abbreviations. Solutions that deal with the truth; that there are many paths to heaven. Or what about the idea that God will understand and that God will look the other way if you ignore God’s instructions? If this is you and you continue to ignore God’s instructions, you may be surprised to hear the words, “I never knew you. Get away from me, you evildoers.”

“Therefore whoever hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain fell, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because the foundation was on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain fell, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash. 28 When Jesus had said this, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had power, and not as teachers of the law (Matthew 7:24-29).
Jesus tells a physical foundation to teach a spiritual truth. Often something drastic has to happen for us to see that our spiritual foundation is compromised by a short cut and everything crumbles under the stress of the winds and storms of life.
Another way to think about it is: Why would you give the appearance of obedience and submission to God if you reject the teachings of God through the actions of your personal life?
Jesus teaches us an important truth that it doesn’t really matter what the building looks like, it’s the foundation – it’s what most don’t see – that’s what really matters. A building will stand or fall depending on the foundation it is built on. We will either stand firm or fall, depending on the foundation we believe. When we build on a firm foundation of Christ, we can endure whatever comes our way. When a foundation is based on the true meaning and spirit of God’s Word, it produces faith and steadfast life.
Building A Firm Foundation For Your Marriage
Jesus gives us a clear picture of two very different people and what they built their lives on in Matthew 7. The first is someone who hears the teaching of Jesus and applies the teaching to how they live. The second is one who also hears the teaching of Jesus, but alone
Jesus taught the way of life that was born of love and a living relationship with God that expressed loving kindness, mercy and forgiveness that produced life and hope in God.
Jesus’ teaching from the Sermon on the Mount cut through the hopelessness of the law and gave us understandable reasons to live and follow the teaching. The outward actions were one thing, but the inward intent of the heart was the real issue that Jesus wanted to highlight and address. You can honor and glorify God by the way you live. The law indicates a spiritual need; listening from the heart is what really counts.
Jesus’ intention was to relate the laws of God in such a way that all people could understand. The law was more than dos and don’ts. The law was to teach you a way of life: first God, then others,
If The Foundations Be Destroyed, What Can The Righteous Do?
Jesus taught and explained the basis for living both in this present life and for eternity.
This teaching was completely opposite to what the scribes and religious leaders focused on and how they lived their lives.
Jesus called the followers of God to stop living as hypocrites, but rather, to be a living example of faithful people to others, to inspire others to live a life of faith in God, and that could not be , but by one to build life. on Jesus – the solid rock.
