The Kingdom Of God Is Like Parables – Most of us (perhaps most of us) do not know the concept of the Kingdom of God. What is the Kingdom of God? What is our relationship? And what do we know about it? We discussed the previous two questions. Today we turn to Jesus for more understanding.
Jesus talked a lot about the Kingdom and used interesting and clear illustrations to explain it. Matthew 13 – A Treasury of Kingdom Parables!
The Kingdom Of God Is Like Parables
The farmer went to sow seeds. While they were sowing, some fell by the wayside and the birds came and ate them. Some fell on rocks that didn’t have much dirt. It grew quickly because the soil was shallow. But when the sun rose, the plants were scorched and withered because they had no roots. Some seeds fell on the thorns and they grew and choked them. But some fell on good ground and bore a hundred, sixty, or thirty fruits.

Everyone who hears the message of the Kingdom, but does not understand it, the evil one will come and tear away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed that was planted along the way. 13 The one planted on the rock is the one who hears the word and immediately accepts it and rejoices. But since they do not have roots, they live for a short time. When pain or suffering comes because of words, they are easily offended. The seed that fell among the thorns is the one who hears the voice; but the cares of this life, the deceitfulness of riches, stifle the voice and bear fruit. And the one who is planted in the good ground is the one who hears and understands the word. Owner of a hundred, sixty, thirty fruits.
What can we learn from this parable? Two things that stand out to me are preparation and commitment. Some are not ready to accept the good news of the kingdom. Some like what they hear, but make no commitment to the kingdom. Others are attracted to the kingdom, but other devotion prevents them from truly giving.
But there are those who hear and understand the good news! And they are free! (because the kingdom requires sacrifice); these are members of the kingdom. Preparation and commitment are essential to being a part of God’s kingdom. Are you ready? Did you commit?
The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seeds in his garden. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed hay among the wheat and left. When the wheat sprouted and the ears came out, the grains also appeared. The householder’s servants came to him and said, “Sir, did you not sow good seed in your garden?” Where did the weeds come from?’ – he answered. The servants asked him, “Shall we go and pluck?” When asked, he said: “No,” he replied, “because you can pull up the wheat while you are pulling up the tares.” Let them all grow together until harvest time. Then I will say to the reapers: First gather the weeds and bind them to burn them; When you gather the grain, bring it to my storehouse.’
A King To Listen To
The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field represents the world, and the good harvest represents the people of the Kingdom. The weeds are the children of the wicked one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. If the roots are uprooted and burned by fire, so will it be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will destroy all sinners and evildoers from his kingdom. They throw them into the fiery furnace, and you weep and gnash your teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father’s kingdom. Let those who have ears hear.
So what do we learn from this parable? First, let me say that the details of illustrations are often not important in themselves, but only support the main idea of the illustration. So I couldn’t imagine life after the fiery furnace and the gnashing of teeth.
But some seem to expect those who do not enter the kingdom to enter the kingdom. However, it is not up to us to determine who are the rightful members of the kingdom, and we must not try to “cleanse” the kingdom of unrighteous people—otherwise we may end up uprooting the true members of the kingdom.

Jesus used everyday situations to teach new things about the Kingdom of God. The most amazing thing is that we can experience the truth on earth to prepare for the glorious day when Jesus will take him to heaven. I’m looking forward to that wonderful day, aren’t you?

Parables Of Jesus In The Gospel According To Luke
We’ve seen this example before. This is the first of 7 parables about the Kingdom of Heaven.
Matthew 13:24 – 30 Jesus explained another parable to them and said, “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But when the people put him to sleep, his enemy came and planted hay among the wheat and left. But when the plants grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared again. Then the householder’s servants came and said, “Sir, did you not sow good seed in your garden?” How did he get the weed?’ When asked, he said: “The enemy did it.” The workers asked him: “Do you want us to go and gather weeds?” collect the weeds and pluck the wheat with it. Let them all weep together before the harvest, and at harvest time I will say to the reapers, “Gather the tares and bind them in bundles to keep them warm, but gather the wheat into my barn.”
Matthew 13:36-43 BL92 – Then Jesus commanded the people to go and entered the house. His disciples came to him and said: – Explain to us the parable about the weeds in the field! He answered them, “The Son of Man is the one who sowed the good seed.” The field is the earth, the good seeds are the children of the kingdom, and the weeds are the children of the wicked one. The enemy who sows the crop is the devil; the harvest is the end of this age, and the reapers are angels. Therefore, just as the ashes are collected and burned, so will it be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather all the wicked and those who do evil from his kingdom and throw them into the furnace of fire. There will be crying and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father’s kingdom. Let those who have ears hear!
God has planted seeds in the soil of our hearts. What kind of soil are you? We must always have soil to draw truth from God’s Word. This is the mind of the Kingdom! We must remember that growth starts slowly and over time the seeds will grow into a strong and healthy plant.
