Verses About The Armor Of God

Verses About The Armor Of God – Last week I shared in Ephesians 6:10 and today I want to continue with Ephesians 6:11 which says, “Put on the whole armor of God that has been provided for us so that you will be protected when you fight against the evil strategies of the accuser”.

Let me quickly remind you that verse 10 reminds you that if you walk in the union of life with Christ, you will receive His strength, victory and power. So that brings us to verse 11. Notice that verse 11 tells believers to put on “the whole armor of God.” I will cover what the full armor includes in the coming weeks, but remember that this verse does not suggest putting on just a few pieces of the armor that God has provided, but the full set. Some translations suggest it on the

Come to think of it, it would be stupid for a police officer not to carry his bulletproof vest, gun, handcuffs, taser and radio? To prepare for battle it is only logical that they use every tool provided for them and the same goes for you. It is up to you to fully access every tool God has provided for you.

To Put On The Armor Of God, We Have To Take Off The ‘armor Of Me’

The only time the enemy’s plans will work is if you choose to associate with him, which is honestly what many Christians do. If youare wondering why you have so much fear and sickness in your life, maybe it is time to pay attention to all the areas of your life that you have given the enemy free reign. I talked about the danger of open doors here and this post could help you recognize the areas of your life that the enemy has a hold on. The reality is that if you choose to obey the Word and put on the full armor, the enemy may try to fight you, but he will never win.

Take some time to recognize the areas of your life that identify more with the enemy than they do with Jesus. What areas of your life is the accuser currently winning the battles and what are you going to do about it? Remember that God has provided all the tools you need to face the battles you face and it is your job to partner with Him and put on the full armor, not just a few pieces.

Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having on the readiness given. from the Gospel of peace. In all circumstances take the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of evil; and take the helmet of salvation… (Ephesians 6:14-17)

A good basketball defense takes into account the tactics and strength of the other team’s offense. If they have good three-point shooters, your team will want to look closer to the three-point line. If they have a player who excels at driving to the hoop, you will watch him extra carefully when he has the ball and can drive down the lane to score.

In a similar way, the enemy of our souls has certain tactics that he uses to defeat us in our spiritual battles.

But God knows exactly what tactics the enemy uses and gives us all the right pieces of armor we need to be good soldiers of Jesus Christ.

The following is a brief description of five pieces in the armor of God and how each protects and arms us against the enemy:

Satan tries to deceive us, causing us to believe lies about God, the world, and ourselves. We put on the belt of truth by renewing our minds in the truth of God, that is, we bring the truth of Scripture to mind when we are confronted with lies. This is how Jesus confronted Satan when he was tempted in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). As we fasten on the belt of truth by continually filling our minds and hearts with scriptures, we fasten the loose garments of deception to prevent them from hindering us in battle.

Satan wants us to compromise the truth by giving in to an unrighteous life. We must be unshakable and uncompromising in our moral life: “Through the new self, created in the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:24). When Christians live out their identity as God’s holy people, they become even more like Christ, thereby escaping the enemy’s trap.

The enemy hates when Christians preach the gospel to others because it advances the kingdom of God and glorifies Jesus Christ. Instead of putting the gospel of peace as shoes, he would prefer that Christians be barefoot or in slippers, without venturing out of what is comfortable to share the good news of Christ. The gospel is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). It brings peace with God to the believer (Romans 5:1) and should be proclaimed at all times.

Armor Of God

This protective weapon helps us to “quench all the flaming arrows of evil” (Ephesians 6:16). The enemy is constantly trying to attack us by shooting arrows of doubt, temptation and deception into our hearts and minds, causing us to fall and act without faith. By exercising our faith and remembering God’s promises, we are able to take this very important shield and defend it against Satan.

The last defensive piece of armor describes how our eternal hope in Christ gives us strength in battle. We may be tempted to doubt our salvation or punishment in the eyes of God, but we must remember that we are eternally secured in the arms of the Savior and we can enter the battle with confidence of the result. He has already won! Our boldness and confidence come from the salvation that Christ won for us through his death and resurrection.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his strength. Put on the whole armor of God so that you can stand against the plans of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers in this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand the evil day and having done everything, may be able to stand firm. So stand
