Was Jesus Christ The Son Of God – Although there is much historical evidence that a man named Jesus of Nazareth lived in the first century, some questions arise as to whether or not we can believe his claims to be the Christ, the Son of God. The best record of His life, the Bible, gives more than enough proof that His claims were true, for His prophecies were fulfilled, the record of His miracles, and the testimonies of His followers.
The fulfilled prophecies of the Old Testament, fulfilled in Jesus’ life and ministry, are the main reason to believe His claims. The prophet Micah prophesied: “As for you, Bethlehem Ephratah, although you are small among the thousands of Judah, from you will come one who will come to me, who will rule over Israel; their origin is from of old, from eternity” (Micah 5:2). Although Mary and Joseph were residents of Nazareth, by divine providence they came to Bethlehem to give birth to Jesus, to fulfill the prophecy. Jesus’ birth from the virgin Mary fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy that “the Lord himself will give you a sign; Behold, the girl will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will name him Immanuel” (Is 7:14).
Was Jesus Christ The Son Of God
Jesus fulfilled many prophecies with his death. Psalm 22:16-18 prophesied of the Messiah, “A crowd of wicked men surrounded me, they pierced my hands and feet.” I can tell all my bones: they look and stare at me. They divide my clothes among themselves and cast lots for my clothes.” John 19:23-24 describes the tearing of His garment and the casting of lots at His crucifixion, “that the Scriptures might be fulfilled.” Even the price of His betrayal, thirty pieces of silver, was prophesied more than five hundred years ago. “And I said to them, if you think well, give me my price; and if not, give up. So they weighed out thirty pieces of silver to me” (Zechariah 11:12).
If Jesus Never Called Himself God, How Did He Become One?
In addition to the fulfilled prophecies, the signs and miracles performed by Jesus show that He is the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus demonstrated his power over nature by turning water into wine and calming the sea. He demonstrated his power over disease by healing lepers, giving sight to the blind, and making the lame walk. He powerfully demonstrated His power over death by raising Lazarus and others from the dead. His own resurrection from the dead clearly demonstrated His dominion over death.
Peter said to Jesus in the name of the apostles: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16). When they were threatened by the opponents of Christ, Peter and John replied: “Listen more to God, whether it is right before God or not.” The court. For we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:19-20). At first, the apostles had difficulty believing in the resurrection of Christ, but soon they had the opportunity to risk their lives for their faith. Peter said: “For we did not act according to cunning fabrications when we announced to you the power and the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we are witnesses of his majesty” (2 Peter 1:16). They were eyewitnesses of His majesty and spoke the truth.—The first half of Son of God is about an optimistic and benevolent Jesus who spreads the good word in biblical terms, a famous, if sometimes oversimplified, saint.
Then things got bloody – probably not quite as graphic as in the 2004 film The Passion of the Christ – when Jesus was arrested, beaten and crucified. Modest production values and uneven special effects in the condensed and remastered (** out of four; rated PG-13; premiering Friday nationally) saint of the History Channel miniseries Kin. (That series gained attention for casting an actor who looked like President Obama as Satan. The film steers clear of any hint of controversy by keeping the devil out of the story.)
As described by Portuguese actor Diogo Morgado, Jesus looks like Brad Pitt with brown eyes. With his bright smile, he had the neat, well-groomed appearance of a model, even with his long wavy hair, dusty coat and beard. A bright smile seemed to come easily to Morgado, who at times felt as comfortable as a surfer. It’s certainly a difficult role, and Morgado captures the tender benevolence associated with the messianic image. However, he does not display the authority, majesty or depth of a spiritual leader.
The Son Of God (in Matthew) — Living Hope Fellowship
The rest of the cast is even less alive. Most have a strong British accent – some sound almost Liverpool, as if the Beatles happened to be among the Israelis.
The story of Jesus from his birth to his resurrection is essentially a series of best-selling miracles. Jesus randomly multiplies a loaf of bread and some fish into a feast for the crowd, raising Lazarus from the dead and walking on stormy seas superhero-style. One could argue that Jesus is the ultimate superhero, but this film’s approach seems to trivialize the dawn of Christianity into a list of top 10 feats and catchphrases.language.
A nasty narration by Peter (Darwin Shaw) ends the film. Hans Zimmer’s overpowering song threatens to bombard all of Bethlehem. Speaking of music, Jesus Christ Superstar told a story with more excitement, depth and emotion than this overlong epic.
The political discontent among the Jewish masses was succinctly conveyed. Jesus’ crucifixion is depicted violently, but his ascension is less effective, performed in a macabre, cheesy style. The story seems to end several times before the credits finally roll. It engages in a series of montages, emphasizing the most prophetic moments that preceded it, as if emphasizing a clarified message.
God The Father And Jesus Christ
Directed by Christopher Spencer and co-produced by Mark Burnett and his wife Roma Downey (who plays Mary, the mother of Jesus), the focus is on the teachings of Jesus. The last words of Christ are filled with prophecy: “I will come soon. May the Lord’s grace be with all the Lord’s.”
There is no denying the story of Jesus and his disciples and rulers who were threatened by his message of love and humility. However, a sense of perspective beyond public evangelism is still missing. The fact that one man and a few true believers could create a global religion that formed a civilization is truly amazing. “Son of God” redirects here. For the 2002 Nas album, see Son of God (album).
