1 Corinthians 8:4, 6 – There is only one God. There is but one God, the Father, from whom all things are, and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom all things were made, and by whom we live.
Scriptural Worship Within The Church
If we understand these verses correctly, they are not worshiping another God, but the one true God in a different way.
What this verse teaches us is that we are brought to know the true God through the revelation of Jesus Christ; for only the only begotten Son can reveal the Father.
Ephesians 4:5 tells us that there is only one Lord, one faith and one baptism. It is clear to this writer that there is only one God with whom the world wishes to communicate and associate.
So how do we know if we are reaching God with our worship? I hear people say all the time, “I worship the one true God.” This is good because there is only one true God and anyone who says otherwise is wrong according to God’s word. But does God accept their worship? Here’s the key.

The Bible tells us in John 4:24 that God is spirit and his worshipers must worship in spirit and truth.
So now we have a set of God-given instructions to follow in order for us to reach Him and receive our worship. We must worship him in spirit and in truth.
So what is the truth? Jesus is the way of truth and life. No one comes to the Father unless the Spirit draws them. This is how God draws us: He shows us His needs – He shows us the Savior He has given us: we in turn realize that we are sinners. We want to escape hell and judgment and go to heaven. We come to Christ to be justified by His blood. So unless God draws us, we will never come to Christ; we cannot, because without the drawing of the Spirit we will never understand our need for a Savior.

It says here that no one comes to the Father except through me. Father – Of course we are talking about Abraham’s father.
One thing Judaism, Christianity and Islam share is that God is the Father of Abraham. We read here that there is no access to father Abraham, but through Jesus Christ and him alone. This is the key to true worship.
So reading this I realized that you can worship God and He will not accept it – unless it is through Jesus Christ. Let’s dive into the scriptures a little more.
Proverbs 15:29 tells us that God hears the prayers of the righteous. I hear many of you say, “This is the key. You must be righteous for God to hear your prayers. This must be the key to worshiping God.” says there is none righteous, no one. So if none of us are righteous, and God only hears the prayers of the righteous, what are we to do? Romans 3:22 tells us that we are saved by faith alone in Jesus Christ. We are made righteous before God. And this applies to anyone who believes, no matter who we are. What does he think? He believes that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died for our sins so that we can be saved in his name. He, through his blood and through his grace, let us have access to God.

Just to get things straight, I never talk about Unitarianism, Universalism, or anything else. It’s all excitement. What I am saying here is that there is only one God. There is only one father Abraham. And billions of people on earth are trying to worship him. They are trying to get access to him. They try to find a way to communicate with him, and he in turn communicates with them. The truth is, according to this humble writer, access is only in Jesus Christ. A Jew worships Father Abraham. Islam worships the father of Abraham. Christianity worships Father Abraham. What is the difference? Do we all worship a different God? The answer is no. NO, because God is one. There is only one creator. And it is a pity that there is only one Lord. One Savior, Jesus Christ. The only way to access worship, fellowship and fellowship with Father Abraham is through Him. God who became man died that we have this access at night. It doesn’t get any sweeter than this.
All religions claim to have a part of God, an understanding of God, access to God, but only in Christ does God claim to have a part of me because I am the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ.

It is the power of the resurrection that enables us to access God and receive our worship. All religions want to know God personally. They want to know his nature, his attributes, his warmth, his love, fellowship and acceptance. It was the salvation that Jesus Christ gave that made it all possible. In all faiths the highest aim and aspiration of the human mind is to know God, to worship God and to receive the same. This can only be done through Jesus Christ. He gave access that proves there is only one God, one faith, one baptism, and Jesus Christ is at the center of it.

Abraham’s father is only one, and God is one. The scriptures make this clear to us. The enemy uses all means to prevent mankind from knowing the truth and the gap between man and God. Only Jesus can bridge this gap. Satan tries to deceive the human heart into believing that they are serving God. This is the biggest deception of all. Thank God for Jesus who closes the gap and opens the eyes of the blind so they can see that he is the truth.
The churches of the Christian church are filled with men and women who are obedient and do not have a personal relationship with Christ. They, like many other religions around the world, are lost and in need of mercy. We must always remember that Jesus died to save all, and we must bring this message to a lost and dying world. Jesus said we will face persecution and many will lose their lives for spreading the “good news”. We are the peacemakers, not of this world, and no matter how evil, violent or warlike other religions are against us, we must always remember that Jesus died so that they too could be saved.
